Orders
Orders are binding for both parties once the lessee has paid, or once Borgmestergaarden has sent a confirmation of the order by e-mail, fax or letter, at the latest.
Unless otherwise agreed, the room/apartment shall be available from 1600 hours on the day of arrival (the time of arrival) until 1000 hours on the day of departure (the time of departure).
The lessee shall provide the personal information required by the public authorities, and for the hotel's records, when the order is placed (full name, date of birth, nationality, address, telephone number, type and number of passport or other travel identification).
Upon arrival, the lessee shall present his/her identification, and confirm the information with his/her signature.
The above is stipulated in Ministerial Orders no. 943 of 05.10.2005 and no. 958 of 21.09.2004.
The right of cancellation
The ordering of hotel and holiday apartments is excluded from the general rule concerning the right of cancellation for purchases made via the telephone and internet, but cancellations may be made according to the rules below.
Payment
Payment for the rent of rooms/apartments shall be made in advance, when the order is placed, using a debit/credit card or by bank transfer.
Repayment in the event of cancellation
Reservations of double rooms for 1-2 persons and reservations with cancellation insurance may be cancelled up until 1200 hours on the date of arrival.
Other reservations may be cancelled up to 21 days before the reserved time of arrival.
Repayment shall be made as soon as possible, by transfer to the debit/credit card, less Borgmestergaarden's direct costs to the debit/credit card company, currently approximately 1-6 % of the total.
Cancellations made between 20 and 14 days before the time of arrival shall result in a total fee of 25% being deducted.
Cancellations made between 13 and 7 days before the time of arrival shall result in a total fee of 50% being deducted.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the time of arrival shall not be refunded.
Optional cancellation insurance
When placing the order, the lessee may choose to purchase cancellation insurance to guarantee free cancellation up until 1200 hours on the date of arrival. Payment for this cancellation insurance shall not be refunded.
Non-appearance
If the lessee does not appear, without cancelling, no refund shall be made.
Force majeure
Reservations may be cancelled without notice on the part of Borgmestergaarden as a result of normal force majeure, strikes, etc., or other matters over which Borgmestergaarden has no control.
Arrival
The reservation number and access code should be brought to the hotel upon arrival - please see the e-mail confirmation of the reservation and payment. The main entrance to the hotel is at Havnegade 69 in Middelfart. If the entrance is unmanned when you arrive, please use the access code to gain access to the building and for check-in/surrender of your key.
Cleaning / bed linen / towels
The lessee shall carry out the day-to-day cleaning during his/her stay. Normal cleaning after departure is included.
One set of bed linen and towels per week is included in the price.
Additional cleaning and new towels and bed linen may be ordered.
Damage
The lessee shall be held liable for the apartment, furniture, equipment, etc.
With his/her order and payment, the lessee accepts liability for any defects or damage caused to the building, furniture, equipment, etc., during the stay, and any costs of extraordinary cleaning.
Any defects, deficiencies or accidents occurring during the stay must be notified to Borgmestergaarden as soon as possible.
During the stay
Additional persons over and above those registered in the order may not stay in the rooms/apartments. If the lessee entertains guest(s) overnight, Borgmestergaarden should be notified as such, and any additional charge to the price shall be paid. The lease is personal - assignment without agreement with Borgmestergaarden shall automatically result in the cancellation of the lease with no refund.
Smoking policy
Borgmestergaarden is an allergy-friendly area. Smoking is not allowed inside the buildings. In the event that this provision is violated, the lessee shall pay for additional cleaning of the room/apartment, including the washing of curtains and the cleaning of furniture textiles and rugs, etc. Smoking is permitted outside.
Pets are not allowed.
Personal information
Personal information shall only be passed on to public authorities, and only in accordance with the laws and rules on this subject.
Misprints
Borgmestergaarden makes reservations for any misprints on the homepage.
Complaints
The lessee is requested to notify Borgmestergaarden as soon as possible in the event of deficiencies or defects, so that the matter can be put right.
Board of appeals
In the event that agreement cannot be reached concerning the processing of a lessee's complaint to Borgmestergaarden, the lessee may submit a complaint to:

This board of appeals is a private board established by HORESTA (the Danish nationwide employer and industry organisation of the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Industry) and the Danish Consumer Council, and authorised by the Consumer Complaints Board.
HORESTA guarantee fund
Lessees in Borgmestergaarden are insured for justified claims for damages through HORESTA's guarantee fund.
